Frequently asked questions
Clear limits. Careful coordination.
The marketplace supports discovery and comparison; it does not replace representation agreements, formal offers or legal closing processes.
What is a reverse-offer campaign?
A qualified buyer defines a genuine purchasing opportunity. After consultation, human feasibility review and the required agreements, The Buyers Marketplace may approach suitable owners and listing representatives for indicative opportunities.
Can properties not listed on MLS participate?
Yes. An owner may privately register an unlisted property for preliminary consideration. Off-market availability is never guaranteed, and registration is not a listing, offer or promise of a buyer match.
Does submitting an application create an agency relationship?
No. Preliminary intake does not obligate the applicant to buy or Jason Upton, eXp Realty or The Buyers Marketplace to provide representation. Required disclosures and written agreements are completed before representation, advice or negotiations begin.
Is the 14-day campaign period guaranteed?
No. Days 3–16 are a target campaign window after consultation and approval. Timing depends on availability, seller participation, market conditions and professional requirements.
What happens after opportunities are gathered?
The buyer reviews suitable opportunities with their realtor or representative, arranges viewings, and may select a property for advice and negotiation through the proper professional process.
Can a represented buyer participate?
Yes. A buyer’s existing realtor remains involved in consultation, opportunity review, viewings, advice, negotiations and formal next steps.
Can a represented seller register?
Yes, but the applicable listing representative must remain involved. Registration does not bypass an existing representation relationship.
What information is shared?
Only information reasonably necessary for preliminary matching is shared. Unnecessary buyer identity, seller details, internal notes and unrelated records remain restricted.
Are reverse offers binding?
No. They are indicative opportunities unless and until the parties complete the required formal real-estate documents.
What happens if the buyer does not purchase?
A $2,500 non-purchase service fee may apply to an accepted participant under the applicable written service or representation agreement. The trigger, exceptions, taxes, payment timing and other terms must be disclosed before participation begins.
