Information we collect
Buyer applications may include contact details, applicant role, self-reported financing status, timing, property criteria, consultation preferences and consent records. Seller registrations may include owner contact details, property information, listing and representation status, price expectations, timeline and consent records. The initial forms do not request bank statements, identity documents, full mortgage documents or payment-card details.
How information is used
Information is used to assess service fit, communicate with participants, organize buyer criteria, review registered properties, identify possible matches, coordinate invited opportunities, maintain records and support the proper real-estate process.
Limited disclosure
Only information reasonably necessary for preliminary matching or an authorized opportunity is disclosed. Unnecessary buyer identity is not provided to sellers, and seller details are not provided to buyers without authorization. Internal notes and unrelated records remain restricted.
No agency through intake
Submitting a buyer application or seller registration does not create an agency relationship, require a purchase or sale, or obligate Jason Upton, eXp Realty or The Buyers Marketplace to provide representation. Required disclosures and written agreements are completed before representation, advice or negotiations begin.
Human decisions
Automated tools may check completeness, organize criteria, calculate timing or summarize records. Jason Upton or an authorized marketplace team member makes consequential decisions about suitability, outreach and possible matching.
Storage, access and retention
Portal records use role-based access and audit history. Buyer applications and seller registrations are stored separately. Internal notes are separated from participant-visible messages. Retention and deletion requests will follow the final marketplace schedule and applicable requirements.
Payments
The site does not receive, store, proxy or log full card numbers, security codes or complete payment credentials. Any future payment flow must use an approved third-party provider.
Contact and review
The designated privacy contact will be published before final launch. This working notice requires review by Jason’s managing broker or qualified British Columbia real-estate compliance counsel.
Working policy version: 2026-08-25. This site does not provide legal, mortgage, appraisal or financial advice.
